Location: Chicago, U.S.-based. Residential Project.
Project Description: This design was developed for a young professional client living in a downtown Chicago condo. The client requested a calm, artful, and inviting living space to relax and entertain friends after a long day. The concept balances contemporary forms with rich materiality and natural light to create an elevated yet welcoming atmosphere. Neutral tones, subtle textures, and bold artwork layer the space with personality while maintaining an understated elegance. A custom-designed media wall anchors the space with a sculptural frame, integrated lighting, and vertical oak fluting that offers both visual depth and functional storage—making it a true centerpiece of the room.
A wide-angle view highlighting the custom media wall with integrated lighting and vertical oak fluting, balanced by soft drapery and a curated mix of clean-lined furnishings.
A closer view of the custom media wall highlights the soft recessed lighting, designed to bring warmth to the space. Built-in shelving and integrated millwork create a seamless, contemporary feel.
Soft daylight fills the space, highlighting the artwork, furniture, and natural textures throughout. The delicate branch in the foreground adds an organic contrast to the clean architectural lines.
Design Elements:
Custom LED strip detailing framing the media wall
Fluted oak paneling with concealed storage
Sheer floor-to-ceiling drapery filtering natural light
Neutral woven area rug adding texture and grounding the space
Oversized monochromatic canvas leaning artwork for sculptural contrast
Built-in shelving for display and subtle architectural rhythm
Low, sculptural coffee table in deep black finish
Upholstered modular sofa in soft off-white fabric
Minimalist track lighting for focused, adjustable illumination
Decorative branch arrangement in glass vessel for organic softness
This space reflects the client’s desire for a refined urban living experience—one that feels personal, composed, and effortlessly modern.
